Ted’s at YoungArts opens in Edgewater

Ted’s at YoungArts is now opens. Ted’s is an intimate performance lounge and eatery located on the 7th Floor of YoungArts’ Tower building on Biscayne Boulevard. Ted’s combines the restaurant and event experience of Starr Restaurants Catering Group with the artistry and vision of YoungArts’ programming. Named in honor of YoungArts’ co-founder and philanthropist, Ted Arison, Ted’s is a unique entertainment destination. Guests can enjoy innovative cuisines while experiencing various types of visual and performing arts curated by YoungArts, such as dance; photography; video installation; popular, classic and jazz music; spoken word and more. The only restaurant in the Southeast designed by world-renowned architect and YoungArts Artistic Advisor Frank Gehry, Ted’s provides audiences an intimate setting to interact with and experience some of the most talented local and national artists. According to New Times :

“Dubbed an “intimate cultural lounge and eatery,” the space allows guests to try unique dishes while experiencing visual and performing arts performances curated by YoungArts. Programs involving various media like dance; photography; video installation; popular, classic and jazz music; and spoken word will be explored. The restaurant also boasts a custom translucent glass bar, and retro modern lounge furnishings. Simon Powles, president of Starr Restaurants Catering Group, says he is, “extremely excited about our partnership with the National YoungArts Foundation. With their mission and their roots here in South Florida, we are enthusiastic to align ourselves with such a remarkable foundation and cultural institution.” The menu will feature global tapas, along with a full bar. Ted’s at YoungArts will be open for a limited number of days in December, then will go on a hiatus until the New Year.
