Small batches, big smiles, that’s what The Salty Donut is bringing to Miami! The Salty is an Artisanal Donut Shoppe & Coffee Bar with a passion for using fresh, local ingredients. Their executive pastry chef and his team hand-craft donuts in small batches, throughout the day, to ensure every customer gets THE freshest little bundles of dough possible. As obsessed as they are with donuts, they are with coffee! Their coffee program director is bringing a whole new movement of craft coffee to a South Florida that’s BEGGING for more of that Seattle/Portland/LA coffee-culture. Salty Donut will be open early Jan 2016 at Wynwood and start with a pop up at Dec 3rd. Here is more information about Salty Donut :
According to Eater :
“Miami is finally getting on the doughnut train with its first craft doughnut shop opening in Wynwood in early 2016 called The Salty Donut. Behind the doughnuts are pastry vet Max Santiago, formerly of The Thompson Hotel and Lure Fishbar, along with Andy Rodriguez and Amanda Pizarro. The shop will open up in the soon-to-be open Wynwood Arcade at 50 NW 24th Street and will feature 12 different doughnuts — four mainstays, four seasonal and four monthly options made with a variety of doughs like cake, brioche and even gluten-free.” written by Olee Fowler.
According to Burger Beast :
“First & foremost Artisanal Donuts is raised Brioche with a Hatuey Malta glaze & Cinnamon Sugar Maduro Mariquitas & the one near the front is their take on a ‘Boston cream’ made with 24hr raised Brioche, Bavarian Cream, semi-sweet Ganache, Chocolate Curls & Cocoa Dust. Chef Max Santiago (is currently the Executive Pastry Chef at Lure) is ‘the man’ or since we’re in Miami, ‘el hombre’ behind these creations. The store will be located in Wynwood at 74 NW 24th Street at the Wynwood Arcade.”
