Royal Caribbean International plans to deploy cruise ship Vision of the Seas at the Port of Tampa beginning in fall 2014, the Tampa Bay Business Journal reports.
The 915-foot ship will join Brilliance of the Seas, which operates at the port during winter cruise seasons, for a total of two RCI ships to homeport in Tampa.
The ship is one in Royal Caribbean’s fleet that changed its itinerary from European destinations to Caribbean.
Vision of the Seas will offer seven-day cruises to Grand Cayman in the Cayman Islands; Cozumel, Mexico; Costa Maya, Mexico and other Western Caribbean destinations.
It has a capacity of about 2,000 passengers and crew of 783.
Tampa has been homeport to the Miami-based cruise line’s (NYSE: RCL) ships since January 2002.
