A cosy and affordable throwback in the centre of Downtown Miami, Mama Tried is a quiet spot for happy hour and a rowdy spot for a late night. The brainchild of the co-founder behind Purdy Lounge, Sweet Liberty and Blackbird Ordinary, Dan Binkiewicz and Mauricio Lacayo of The Bend Liquor Lounge. It aims to be a low-key, funky spot in the otherwise 9-to-5 neighbourhood.
According to YELP:
“Great decor, like nothing I’ve ever seen before and friendly bartenders.”
“A bigger and full operated bar, cool lighting, live DJ, and spacious spot to hang out. And the name is so catching and just feels like the ‘Locals Bar’.”
According to UrbanDaddy:
“Partly because of the drinks, partly because of the vibe. Walking in, you’ll feel the ’50s Vegas dive influence. The gold disco lamps. The bright red carpet. The black, gold, dark green and burgundy colours. The “no regrets” mural. All this, you’ll think, embodies a swanky dive bar.”
