Madonna Could be Heading to the Super Bowl

Madonna’s backed out twice before, but third time’s the charm right?

iVillage reported the “Queen of Pop” is reportedly bringing her vocal chords to Indianapolis, IN for the 2012 Super Bowl XLVI halftime show in February.

However, the NFL has yet to confirm, and if the past does in fact repeat itself, football won’t be getting any Madonna in the near future. The first time Madonna was invited to perform was in 1998 in Miami. Twelve years later, Madonna was again scheduled to perform the halftime show in Miami but canceled. Maybe she just really doesn’t like Miami?

Entertainment Weekly reported Madonna’s reps have also not confirmed the news. But EW added a Super Bowl performance would certainly benefit both parties.

For example, Madonna’s new album is set to release next spring and all of Hollywood knows a spot on the Super Bowl is pure gold for both performers and advertisement agencies.

In addition, EW said Madonna fits the profile of the prototypical halftime performer. Past performances include Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Prince, and the Rolling Stones.

If Madonna rejects the invitation this year, do you think she’ll be asked again?
