Lebron James, to have his own documenter drama

Lebron James will soon to have his own documenter drama about his basketball life in highschool. James has led the Heat to two straight NBA championships, and the team is waiting to see who it will play in the second round of the playoffs. Since he went right from high school to the NBA and became an instant star and the most outsized talent since Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan, you might wonder what drama his formative years could have. According to Miami.com :

“Miami Heat superstar LeBron James is set to produce a docu-drama about his life as a high school basketball player in Ohio, according to several movie-trade news outfits in Los Angeles. James, 29, who’s waiting for the second round of the NBA playoffs; Maverick Carter, James’ manager, and two big-deal Hollywood producers are set to pick one of four scripts under consideration.” written by Jose Lambiet.


According to Variety.com :

“Dallas Buyers Club producer Rachel Winter and husband Terence will produce along with James and his manager Maverick Carter. The project is based on a pitch by Frank E. Flowers. After the film stalled in development, Rachel Winter approached James and Carter two years ago to put some life into the project and helped bring on Flowers in January to put the gears further in motion on getting this film to a studio. The story was covered in the 2008 documentary More Than a Game, which followed James and his four high school teammates through their playing career together and the ups and downs that came with it while James’ fame grew.” written by Justin Kroll.

“I’m hearing there are two offers on the table, with at least two more expected by tomorrow. The project is based on a pitch by Frank E. Flowers, with Terence Winter and Rachel Winter attached to produce with James and his manager Maverick Carter. The deal is expected to be sealed before the weekend. Winter is the creator of Boardwalk Empire, and he was Oscar nominated for his The Wolf Of Wall Street script.
