Seafood is the star at newcomer Seawell Fish N’ Oyster (660 Washington Avenue), debuting Monday, October 28, inside the newly renovated Kimpton Angler’s Hotel.

The new eatery and cocktail lounge created be the same team behind Washington Avenue’s Minnow Bar is led by executive chef Julian Garriga, who has done stints at some of the city’s top kitchens over the past decade. The menu boasts seafood classics mixed with a variety of interesting spins on traditional dishes. Think items like east and west coast oysters, peel ’n eat shrimp, and fish ’n chips, served alongside more eccentric plates like “everything” monkey bread, “angry” lobster poutine topped with a nduja gravy, rock shrimp stuffed Scotch eggs, and Carolina rice with pigeon peas.

Brunch is also offered every Saturday and Sunday with offerings such as French toast bread pudding, egg and sausage sandwiches, a smoked salmon eggs benedict, all washed back with $20 unlimited mimosas. The cocktail menu keeps it light with plenty of gin and vodka based drinks like the Pink Lady made with gin, applejack, pomegranate, lemon, and egg whites or the Tavern Spritz created with fillet blanc, white port, aperol, and champagne.

Jay K.- ” The is a reasonably priced restaurant for the area with a historic neighborhood feel in the midst of South Beach. The Oysters Bingo was a fantastic spin on the classic Oysters Rockefeller, as well as the lobster poutine and the fish was the freshest I’ve had on Miami Beach.”
