After nearly a decade of operating one of Miami’s most popular restaurants, Mandolin Aegean Bistro, the team behind the Greek-Turkish eatery has taken over the restaurant space inside the historic Vagabond Hotel to open an all-day American bistro called Gregory’s Diner .
Owners Anastasia Koutsioukis and Ahmet Erkaya have partnered with general manager Tamara Magalhães and executive chef Roel Alcudia to create the new space that pays homage to Koutsioukis’ grandfather, Gregory, and other immigrants who came to the U.S. and owned and operated diners throughout the country.
The restaurant serves updated takes on classic diner fare. Think tuna and patty melts, cheeseburgers, Greek and cobb salads, triple-level club sandwiches, alongside more refined dishes like New York strip, beef tartare, grilled snapper, mole clams, a roving cheese cart and even a caviar service. A full bar and cocktail menu is also available. The space keeps with the mid-century vibes that the hotel it’s housed in is known for with checkered flooring, sleek wood seating, and colorful artwork adorning the walls.
