London’s “National Theatre Live” Returns With “The Magistrate” Friday Through Sunday, February 1 Through February 3 Directed by Olivier Award-winner Timothy Sheader (Crazy for You and Into the Woods), the uproarious Victorian farce The Magistrate will be presented Friday through Sunday.

The uproarious Victorian farce follows a young teenaged boy with a taste for smoking, gambling, alcohol and women. But the truth, comically hard to conceal, is his mother dropped five years from her true age – and his – when she married amiable magistrate Posket, played by Academy Award-nominee and Tony Award-winner John Lithgow (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels). When her deception looks set to be revealed, it sparks a series of hilarious indignities and outrageous mishaps. Time Out London says “Fantastic…good fun.”
