The Miami Bach Society, in conjuction with the Consulate General of France in Miami, presents Songs of Love and Drinking Songs – Les Arts Florissants with William Christie, director.

This program explores the possibilities of the air de cour. This simple music dates back to the 17th century and was meant to be sung by laborers and ladies maids , but it soon gravitated from the street to the salon and was to become serious, joyful and even licentious.

“A classy, sexy entertainment of short songs presented as a chamber opera about the shenanigans at a posh wedding.” – The Guardian
