It’s a new season! Conductor Ian Bousfield, former Principal Trombone of the Vienna Philharmonic, joins the Brass Fellows to triumphantly herald NWS’ 28th year with fanfares, dances and a bit of jazz. The celebratory spirit begins with the brilliant ringing of Praeludium’s brass, bells and percussion, and continues through Capriol Suite’s lively Renaissance dances—including a fiery climatic sword dance. The American spirit sparkles with Michael Tilson Thomas’ own Street Song and Eric Richards’ Three Scenes for American Trombone, which capture our nation’s iconic musical styles through jazz, marches, yodels, hymns and more. Edward Elgar’s ceremonial Severn Suite is a nostalgic and regal finale fit for the epic season ahead.
