The Idea Center at Miami Dade College (MDC) will presentJuan Lopez Salaberry, partner at 500 Startups at 5:30 p.m., Dec. 8, as part of its dynamic Pioneers @ MDC lecture series that brings game-changers from various industries to share their trials and triumphs.  This event is free and open to the public.

Lopez Salaberry will discuss the lessons learned from working with over 100 startup companies and investing in 80 of those companies. Students will learn what is important for the next class of startup entrepreneurs changing the game in Miami. As with all Pioneers@MDC session, this will be an interactive exchange where MDC students will have the opportunity to learn how to jump into the local entrepreneurial ecosystem, how to start the next innovative startup and what VCs are looking for.

500 Startups is a leading global venture capital seed fund and startup accelerator, managing $200M in assets and invest in 1300+ technology start-ups. Notable 500 startup companies are Makerbot, Behance and Credit Karma.
