George Logothetis, the founder of a multibillion dollar international business group, will speak as part of the ongoing lecture series at The Idea Center at Miami Dade College (MDC), an entrepreneurship hub that serves as a co-curricular engine of innovation and idea development for all MDC students across all disciplines.
Logothetis will speak at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16. as part of the Pioneers @ MDCspeakers series that brings game-changers from various industries to share their trials and triumphs. This event is free and open to the public.
At age 39, Logothetis is the founder and CEO of The Libra Group, a privately-held business group operating in five continents. The group is predominantly focused on shipping, aviation, real estate, hospitality and renewable energy but also has a growing portfolio of diversified investments. Logothetis is also a founder of Seleni Institute, a New York-based non-profit organization that focuses on womens reproductive and maternal mental health and a creator of the Concordia Summit, a non-partisan organization focused on supporting public-private partnerships.
The Libra Group expanded its global internship program to include students in Miami at MDC starting in January.
The Idea Center @ MDC includes a venture incubator called CREATE to nurture and turn suitable student business projects into a reality. It is housed at the downtown Wolfson Campus but with college-wide programs.
