The Centre for Latin America and Caribbean Initiatives at Miami Dade College (MDC) will host a conversation with Dr. Teresa García Ortiz, who will present her latest book Myths and Realities of the Capitol of Havana at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 11, at MDC’s Wolfson Campus in downtown Miami. This event will be in Spanish only. It is free and open to the public.

Dr. Ortiz has devoted more than three decades to developing public relations for the historic Capitol of Havana and has compiled an impressive volume of unpublished material and surprising stories about the iconic building. Dr. Ortiz will exhibit a slideshow of unseen photos of the Capitol and sign copies of her book after the presentation.

Well-known author, Dr. Uva de Aragon, daughter of Dr. Carlos Márquez Sterling who presided over the historic Constituent Assembly of 1940 held at the Capitol, will present Ortiz.

Free parking is available at the Building 7 parking garage, with entrances at N.E. 5 St. and N.E. 6 St.
