U.S. Ambassador Arnold A. Chacón will discuss with students the role of the U.S. Department of State and available career opportunities on Oct. 8 at 1 p.m., at Miami Dade College (MDC) Wolfson Campus.


Ambassador Chacón, who serves as Director General of the Foreign Service and Director of Human Resources at the State Department, is the highest ranking Latino official in the federal government.  He is a career diplomat with more than three decades of experience serving Latin American countries and other parts of the globe.


He will encourage students to pursue federal careers and speak about the Department of State’s new recruitment strategy, which will include a wide variety of fields such as STEM, languages, arts and medical professions, among others.
