Drawing Room opens in South Beach

Albert Trummer opens Drawing Room at the newly renovated Shelborne Wyndham Grand in South Beach. Some drink-makers call themselves bar chefs, some mixologists. Albert Trummer thinks of himself an apothéker. He crafts his cocktails with fresh, local ingredients, herbs and botanicals to create unique cocktails that are nothing like anything you’ve tried before. Trummer borrows techniques from the kitchen and apothecary to stir up masterpieces that blur the line between chemistry and art. Here is more information about Drawing Room :

According to Urban Daddy :

“There’s the library, with rich brown leather banquettes and stacks of books. And then there’s the apothecary-jar-laden bar. Choose wisely. (But take a look at the slideshow first.) And mixing up Albert’s 10 secret herbal elixirs with things like tequila and bourbon to make drinks that can help ease stress or inspire, um, amorous feelings. They’re also there to stack champagne flutes in a pyramid and light the whole thing on fire. Because, of course.”

According to New Times :

“The bar, which turns the hotel’s daytime library into a lounge, features Tennessee granite columns, leather couches, and brass cocktail carts wheeling the bar’s special “selection of house medicines” to patrons. The gist is to order a “cocktail prescription” made with Japanese ingredients, fresh fruits, botanicals, and secret potions under categories like Stress Relievers, Pain Killers, and Aphrodisiacs — all things Miami residents need on a regular basis.” written by Laine Doss.

According to Miami.com :

“The Drawing Room Bar & Lounge joins Morimoto South Beach as the Shelborne’s flagship cocktail and dining spots and is expected to open in October.“Albert Trummer has brought mixology to new heights and we are excited to offer his innovation, creativity and passion to our guests at Shelborne Wyndham Grand,” stated Dayssi Olarte de Kanavos, President of Flag Luxury Group, the managing partner of Shelborne. “He has developed a beverage program that complements the inspiration and ambience of our Drawing Room Bar & Lounge perfectly, blending rich and beautiful history with a modern sensibility.” And a medicinal one, too.” written by Lesley Abravanel.
