Copper 29 Bar is a Cocktail & Tapas Bar located in Coral Gables in Miami, Florida. They’ve just open in August in the location that once held Ticety Iced Tea Bar at 206 Miracle Mile, Miami, Florida 33134. The bar menu was created by former La Mar beverage manager Eleftherios Kraounakis (aka Lef), and features a variety of signature cocktails that are broken down on the menu by flavor profile, preparation style and even mention what glass it’ll be served in. As an ode to its namesake, copper, it even gives the chemical formula of the spirit in the beverage. But if you’d rather have the bartender create a custom beverage for you on the spot, that can be done as well. Here is more information about Copper 29 :
According to Urban Daddy :
“If you said anything other than “whiskey,” then stop. Do not pass go. And immediately make your way to Copper 29, a welcoming new bar where you can safely tuck yourself away from the masses with a smoking glass of bourbon, soft-open now in Coral Gables. Take a look around. The obvious play in a place like this: after work. The long stretch of wooden bar with copper accents, old-timey lamps and chandeliers invites a proper hunkering down with a glass of something brown. But if that’s all you’re thinking, you’d be underestimating it. A lot. Because later in the night, a DJ will emerge from behind the bar. Which won’t displease the group you’ve gathered around the vintage tufted couches and wingback chairs. Also in the not displeasing category: a round of pork confit sliders from a former Cantina La Veinte chef.” written by JACKIE GUTIERREZ-JONES.
According to New Times :
“The Don’t Herb Me ($14) cocktail is made with Old Forester bourbon, dry eucalyptus shrub, star anise extract, black walnut bitters, and a cherry-oak-smoked ice-cube served in a glass dome. What makes this a great sipping drink is the unexpected sweetness from the shrub. Kraounakis says of his creation, “I love eucalyptus — it reminds me a lot of my mother and grandmother. When I was a kid, when anyone would get sick, they would boil eucalyptus for its healing properties, and the whole house would smell of it. I found a great combination with the bourbon, and we add a bit of smokiness with cherry-wood smoke. It’s a great show as well for the table.” Written by PAULA ECHEVARRIA.
