The Coconut Grove Arts Festival is presented by the Coconut Grove Arts & Historical Association, Inc., a non-profit organization with a full-time professional staff, Board of Directors and more than 600 community volunteers. With over 100,000 visitors, proceeds from the event provide funding for educational and community programs, including a Building Fund for a permanent Arts Center in Coconut Grove. The Coconut Grove Arts Festival is supported but not funded by the City of Miami.
Beyond Light & Earth
The Coconut Grove Arts Festival® is an annual, three-day outdoor event, celebrating fine arts, live performances and local flavors. Held every Presidents’ Day Weekend, the Arts Festival is considered one of the nation’s most stellar arts festivals and is held right here in the charming village of Coconut Grove. For nearly one mile along Biscayne Bay’s waterfront streets, more than 360 internationally-recognized and jury-selected artists showcase their spectacular works, spanning across 15 stunning visual categories. We invite you to visit the Arts Festival this winter – or stop by our year-round professional gallery studios any day of the year for art, food, music and fun!
What began in 1963 as an intimate “clothes line” art show featuring a handful of artists and a few thousand onlookers as part of a promotion for the Coconut Grove Playhouse’s production of Irma la Douce has transformed itself into South Florida’s most successful arts festival. Today, the event attracts an estimated 120,000 people to the winding streets of Coconut Grove during President’s Day weekend.
