As per recent information, it has been revealed that the people of Canada find it hard to manage time for various daily, imperative and elementary things like exercising, eating healthy foods, etc.
On the other hand, a leading firm that is keenly focused on combating cardiovascular ailments has claimed that people should now start taking time out for these important and extremely vital things, which are related to healthy lifestyle, if they want to live a healthy life and relish the true nectar of longevity.
While expressing his opinion in this regard, David Sculthorpe, CEO of the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation, has claimed that, “Eight out of 10 Canadians know that heart disease and stroke can be prevented, postponed or treated by making healthy lifestyle choices, but they are focusing on the barriers rather than the opportunities”.
The statements are based on results obtained from a survey focused on finding out the reason why people in Canada are generally not active enough or are not eating enough health food.
While revealing the observations of the study, Sculthorpe claimed that as much as 82% of people who took part in the survey were fully aware about the fact that they can take measures for reducing their odds of suffering stroke or heart disease. These measures include taking 150 minutes of restrained to dynamic exercise every week, which the foundation claimed can hold highly effective in reducing the threat of strokes, heart disease, diabetes and high blood pressure by as much as 33%. In contrast, inactivity can cut off almost four years of the lifespan of a person, revealed the reports of the survey.
The charitable agency has also suggested consuming five or more servings of vegetables and fruits and vegetables each day so as to ward off the possibilities of stroke and heart disease by as much as 20%.
