At Box Park, chef Matt Hinckley cooks exotic proteins like alligator, wild boar, and Asian snakehead fish.
But on October 28, the chef will offer a different style of cookery. Hinckley will co-host a vegan dinner with Love & Vegetables’ Keith Kalmanowicz and Avril Johnnidis. Proceeds of the event will benefit Love & Vegetables’ mission of providing healthy, pay-what-you-can meals to the community.
This isn’t the first time Hinckley and Kalmanowicz collaborate in the kitchen. “I’ve worked alongside Keith in the trenches of the Genuine Hospitality Group and he has tremendous talent and dedication to his craft. I’m excited to share kitchen space again,” said Hinckley.
The chef has supported Love & Vegetables since its inception. When Kalmanwoicz was just getting started with his community cafe, Hinckley let him borrow equipment and supplies.
“Matt’s a badass,” said Kalmanowicz. “He believed in me when others thought I was crazy. He loaned countless kitchen supplies when I was cooking for 100 people with one pot on a four-burner stove with only one 4 quart to store it all in.”
The collaboration will celebrate this relationship. The six-course plant-based meal will be modeled after Box Park’s “Just Send Food” option — a tasting menu that typically suits an omnivore’s diet. For this event, the restaurant will switch the concept’s name to “Just Send Veggies.”
The menu, priced at $64.29 plus tax and gratuity, will be served family-style and will include one complimentary beverage. (Beer and wine will be available for purchase throughout the meal.) The event is limited to only 40 seats.

7:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Cocktail reception with passed appetizers
