Whether you live or work in downtown Miami, you will have a new spot for burgers and beers when Biscayne Tavern officially opens April 17 at the b2 Miami Downtown hotel.
Decorated in modern dark brown tones and peppered with many, many flat screens, the tavern is an inviting place to watch your favorite game. There are over a dozen beers on tap and upscale pub grub by executive chef Will Biscoe.
Most craft beers, including Monk in the Trunk, Abita Purple Haze, Brooklyn Brown ale, and Due South’s Caramel Cream are $6.
Jeffery Chodorow of China Grill Management was tapped by the b2 to oversee the restaurant and his touches show. The decor is clean and modern, with a private dining room, complete with HD television, that seats 12.
Short Order was invited to check out the space during their soft opening and were handed a menu stamped “under construction” to peruse.

Though the restaurant offers pub staples like a tavern burger, made with Florida grass fed beef ($14.50), fish & chips ($16), and a grilled chicken club ($13), there are also some upscale and unusual touches like a weekly south Florida boullabaisse served on Fridays ($29.50), a braised pork shank with house made spaetzle ($22), a shepherd’s pie made with duck ($21), and a hearty three cheese macaroni with a crispy bacon crust ($15.50).

Appetizers and bar bites include blue crab cake sliders ($12), pork belly sliders ($9), Korean Kalbi grilled chicken wings ($7), and crispy Gulf shrimp dynamite, served in a silver pail ($8).

We’re not sure what else was on the dessert menu, because we stopped when we heard about the warm chocolate chunk cookies served with a glass of ice cold milk. A shareable portion is messy, gooey, and totally worth having chocolate all over your lips and fingers.
Valet parking is $10 with dinner (be sure to get your ticket validated), which is a good deal for Heat fans who want to park their car and grab dinner before the game.

Biscayne Tavern is open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Though the bar closes at around 11 p.m. weeknights, they will likely remain open later for Heat fans who want to celebrate with a post-game cold one.
The tavern officially opens tomorrow, April 17, and is offering a complimentary draft craft beer with the purchase of an entree to diners during opening week (April 17 – 24).
