Baby Jane is opening at Brickell

Just opened Ariete back at January, the duo behind it is ready to strike again. Restaurateur Jason Odio and chef Michael Beltran will soon be opening Baby Jane at 500 Brickell. Baby Jane is planned to be a laid-back bungalow of cocktails and burgers. Here is more information about Baby Jane :


According to :

“A collaboration between Odio (who also owns Sidebar) and longtime mentor, former Opium Group honcho Roman Jones, this spot aims to cater to Brickell-ites with remastered American classics and craft cocktails. Executive chef Michael Beltran will oversee the menu which will be executed by Chef de Cuisine Gio Fesser (formerly of Tuyo). Menu highlights include short rib pastrami tacos, duck and foie croquettas, steak tartare with harissa and malanga and desserts made by Ariete pastry chef (and Hedy Goldsmith protégé) Dallas Wynn that include pie pockets, turtle brownies and lemon bars. The 40-seater will be designed by Mark Lehmkuhl of Ghosthouse Design who designed Bodega, and will be outfitted with brick walls, fireplace, church pew seats, elk horns on the wall and a tile bar.”


According to New Times :

“Chicken wings are served with a choice of jerk, soy caramel, or Buffalo sauce. Croquetas are made with duck and foie gras, and tacos are filled with short-rib pastrami or grilled pork belly and homemade pickles. If you’re hungry for something more substantial, Beltran’s chug burger should fit the bill. It’s a double-patty burger topped with bread-and-butter pickles and cheddar. Simple desserts such as lemon bars, turtle brownies, and pie pockets are sweet finishes to the meal. The menu is not finalized, and prices are not yet available, but according to Beltran, prices will top out in the teens. There will be an emphasis on small plates, though Beltan’s version of small plates will still be considered quite generous, according to the exec chef.” written by Laine Doss.
