AT&T expands mobile Internet coverage in South Florida

South Florida customers of AT&T are to experience improved mobile Internet coverage and voice performance, following upgrades to 35 cell sites.

The upgrades include additional capacity to cell sites in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties that enable sites to accommodate more traffic, which helps improve the performance of mobile Internet data and voice connectivity, according to a news release.

Areas benefiting from the improvements are:

In Miami-Dade County: Doral and North Miami Beach.

In Broward County: Fort Lauderdale, Parkland, Pembroke Pines and Pompano Beach.

In Palm Beach County: Boca Raton, Jupiter, Lake Worth, Palm Beach Gardens, Wellington and West Palm Beach.

“Our top priority is to provide customers with an exceptional wireless experience,” AT&T Florida President Marshall Criser III said in a statement. “The ongoing enhancements we’re making to our local mobile Internet network to expand coverage, capacity and super-fast speeds are one way we’re accomplishing this goal.”

Last week, AT&T announced three new 4G mobile Internet cell sites in Hollywood, Palm Beach and West Palm Beach.
