AT&T customers might see some improvement in their mobile data speeds as a result of recent upgrades to 110 cell cites in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties.
The network project involved adding new layers of frequency to the cell sites. The additional capacity makes it possible for the cell sites to accommodate more traffic, which helps improve the performance of mobile Internet data and voice connectivity for AT&T customers.
“These capacity upgrades are just one way we’re working to provide our customers with a great mobile Internet experience,” said AT&T Florida President Marshall Criser III. “We’re continually investing in South Florida to build a 4G network for our customers that’s smarter and better.”
Since the start of the year, AT&T has made capacity upgrades to nearly 300 cell sites in South Florida, and activated a cell site in Sunrise.
Customers in the following areas will see the capacity increase:
Miami-Dade County: North Miami, Hialeah Gardens, Coral Gables, Doral, Coral Terrace, Kendall, Miami Lakes, North Miami Beach, Miami Gardens, Opa-Locka, Cutler Bay and Homestead.
Broward County: Davie, Pembroke Pines, Miramar, Plantation, Tamarac, Lauderdale Isles, Hollywood, Tamarac Lakes, Lauderdale by the Sea, Fort Lauderdale, Pompano Beach and Deerfield Beach.
Palm Beach County: Boca Raton, Delray Beach, West Palm Beach, Wellington, Royal Palm Beach, Loxahatchee and South Bay.
