Uvaggio, a new wine bar at Coral Gables

Uvaggio recently opens in Miracle Mile, bring a new wine place addition to the Coral Gables. Uvaggio fuses old world European charm with modern day Miami perfectly marrying hand selected boutique wines with tasty bites. Located in the heart of Coral Gables, Uvaggio is a chic wine bar offering an intimate and refined ambiance perfect for all who enjoy superb wines, great food and unparalleled service. Here is more information about Uvaggio :

According to Miami Eater :

“According to the chef, Bret Pelaggi, Uvaggio boasts various hard to find, high-end wines in a casual atmosphere designed around the classic European-style wine bar, sans the stuffy wine snob feel. The menu and wines were designed cohesively, not in the traditional manner of developing a menu then picking some wines that would go ok with that food, says Pelaggi, we picked some unique boutique small production vineyards smelled, tasted and wrote down any and all scents, flavors and textures that came to mind. With that information a menu was conceived with all the things we had just smelled and tasted in mind, we called it ‘tasting backwards.’ Menu highlights include short rib with black licorice tea consommé and black olive soil, terrine of pork rillette with dill seed and black mustard and octopus naranja agria with Spanish paprika and jicama.” written by Ana Heretoiu.

According to Urban Daddy :

“The vibe: laid-back but sleek, like walking into Anthony Bourdain’s kitchen (the way you dream about it, anyway). Supple brown leather stools lining the intimate bar. Dark wooden tables, shorter than highboys but taller than… tables. And large mirrors for admiring your swirling technique. So it’s 5 o’clock, and you’re thinking drinks with the attractive ad exec from the 10th floor. Get that elevator pitch ready, then bring them here for an aperitivo of charcuterie and cheese and a bottle of the Domaine Nicolas Girard Sancerre. Nice.”

According to SouthFloridaGourmet :

“Tucked in a cozy 30-seat space – and perhaps 12 outdoor seats once they get the permit – Uvaggio (meaning ‘wine blend’ in Italian) Wine Bar and restaurant is easy to miss, especially since owner Craig De Wald and his partner, sommelier  Heath Porter, haven’t yet managed to hang a sign. With bright walls and a great bar that dominates the space, Uvaggio is an intimate temple to wine. Over 100 bottles crowd the temperature controlled small space and everyday there are at least 20 bottles of wine to be served by the glass (3 oz. pour at $4.50 and 6 oz pours start at $9.00).” written by Simone Zarmati Diament.
