The owner of two Tap 42 bar now opens its third location in Coral Gables. TapCo Restaurant Group opens their third location at 301 Giralda Avenue. The 6,350-square-foot Coral Gables location is designed with an outdoor patio and seating for 200 customers. With more than 50 craft brands on its beer menu, Tap 42 has a large following among young professionals. Tap 42 also sells $5 hamburgers on Mondays, designates Wednesdays as “ladies night,” and serves a weekend brunch. Previously Tap 42 opened 2 locations already at 1411 South Andrews Avenue in Fort Lauderdale and 5050 Town Center Circle in Boca Raton. Here is more information about Tap 42 :

“Let’s say you find yourself in the Gables after a long, beer-free day. That’s clearly a situation that needs an immediate remedy. So you head over to this industrial-looking affair with wood paneling, massive garage doors that roll up to an outdoor patio and a big circular bar with 42 beer taps behind it. Plus a few cocktails on tap for good measure. Now, you’re probably going to need some bacon-and-sweet-corn guacamole and a lamb burger with whipped goat cheese. Or anything from this menu, really. It’s the kind of stuff that serves as nice, fluffy cushion for pints of J. Wakefield’s Hop for Teacher or a special collaboration brew with Funky Buddha called 42 Truths.”

“Located on the corner of Giralda Avenue and Salzedo Street, the restaurant will feature floor-to-ceiling garage doors that open along both storefronts, allowing for a unique indoor-outdoor experience only the Tap 42 Coral Gables will offer. Consistent design elements include reclaimed wood panels sourced from Oregon and the rebar-framed bar. The menu, recently updated at the Boca Raton location, was redrafted with the Coral Gables restaurant in mind. It features new main plates, including spicy tuna tartare (hand-cut ahi tuna, avocado, cucumber, cilantro, spicy mayo, and malanga chips, $15.50); chimichurri skirt steak (96-hour ají panca marinade, flame-grilled with crisp tostones, $24.50); barbecued baby-back ribs (slow-cooked ribs with house-made barbecue sauce and creamed corn, $22); and Chef Drew’s fried chicken (Korean chili-glazed chicken with honey, ginger, garlic, and Asian-style coleslaw, $18).” written by Nicole Danna.

“I’m so happy that I came on the first day they opened! I just got in from out of town and happened to be in Coral Gables. What are the chances?! As soon as I walked in the hostess was really kind and welcoming. When I went to sit at the bar, all the bartenders (Emily and Connie) warmly greeted me and asked if I had been helped. They also called me by name! The service was efficient and everything came in a timely manner. The truffle steak sandwich was phenomenal! I ordered it medium well so the meat was nice and tender. I love all the savory flavors going on and the fact it wasn’t too salty. The bread was warm and soft on one side and slightly crispy on the other! Perfection!!
