MISO Grand Season Opening

The Miami Symphony Orchestra (MISO), now in its historic 26th season, is Miami’s hometown professional symphony and a valuable contributor to Miami’s cultural fabric.  With 80 professional musicians selected from around the world, MISO represents the exceptional talent and diversity that mirrors South Florida’s international and multicultural richness.  With national and world premieres becoming more common, MISO is a source of growing local pride and support.

 

The Grand Season Opening of the Miami Symphony Orchestra will fall at Sunday, Oct 5, 2014. The venue chosen is the beautiful Knight Concert Hall at Adrienne Arsht Center. The concert itself will introduce Lola Astanova, who considered by some to be among the most watched virtuoso performers in the world, YouTube sensation. She will bring her distinct visual flair to the Adrienne Arsht Center for an unforgettable evening of music. Led by Maestro Eduardo Marturet, her riveting and deeply emotional style embodies Rachmaninov’s irresistible melodies, in a program that also features Brahms’ masterful Symphony No. 1, declared “the greatest symphony since Beethoven’s Ninth.”
