The Miami Design District is a neighborhood dedicated to innovative fashion, design, architecture and dining experiences. The Miami Design District is owned by Miami Design District Associates, a partnership between Dacra, founded and owned by visionary entrepreneur Craig Robins, and L Real Estate, a global real estate development and investment fund, specializing in creating luxury shopping destinations. Together Dacra and L Real Estate have actively transformed the once-overlooked area of Miami into a vibrant destination for residents and visitors by presenting the best shopping, cultural and culinary experiences within an architecturally significant context. The vision for a rejuvenated Design District — responsive to its historic, urban and tropical context – was codified in an urban master plan developed by the award-winning master planners Duany Plater-Zyberk, with the additional participation of architects including Walter Chatham, Hariri and Hariri, Juan Lezcano, Terence Riley, and Alison Spear. The Miami Design District embodies a singular dedication to the unity of design, fashion, art and architecture, and a commitment to encourage a neighborhood comprised of creative experiences.

Living near the area for 6+ years, I've seen how much it has grown & evolved from merely a few expensive furniture stores to a full-blown destination. Luxury for sure, it is a fabulous addition to the Miami area even if not the same experience as going to Bal Harbour, for example. Some unique stores like the Tom Ford boutique, and the Louis Vuitton boutique is very nice, 3 stories, excellent service. The Cartier boutique has also been a nice experience. Good food options as well. Parking is easy, by the way, now the garages are operating.

Luxury shopping district with some good eats in the area. It is an outdoor district with over 60 luxury stores stretching from jewelry to furniture.

Nice, but compared to other design center's not special enough

Lots of interesting street art, high end fashion stores, designed outdoor seating. Very lively and pleasant. Wish it is bigger than just few blocks.
