My family and I used museum passes from the local library for admission. The building is large and beautiful. Kids can really have an adventure here but it's up to parents to engage their kids and get them interested in the things they're seeing. PROS: Room after room of individual interactive activities. From designing and launching paper planes, to a colorful interactive floor-mat that counts steps as the children play on it. The Aquarium is beautiful and serene. The aviary is nice (about small). And you can even go on the roof and use the viewers to look across the waters. The planetarium is state of the art. Also there is a kind of treasure hunt that comes with the museum app that, when completed can be used to get a gift for your child the gift shop. CONS: The building is really open. Good weather days that's fine. But When we went it rained (badly) and there was absolutely no where for us to take shelter for long. There was some indoor attractions on the floor we were on, but they kept herding us out into the rain to allow other people to come in and we had to walk back around and come in again to try and keep dry; (I had an infant with me) and they still wouldn't let me stand in the vestibule area until the weather changed. I HATED how crowded it was.....and I absolutely HATED the fact that everyone had to basically fight for elevators in order to get to each floor. With thousands of school children scurrying about, this is more difficult than it sounds. The planetarium show that we picked (there were two) turned out to be the worst one. I was informed later that one show was significantly better than the other. We picked The Incredible Earth or something like that and people, including my husband, my daughters and I were falling asleep. It was boring. Pack your own lunches. Food is too expensive. The Treasure hunt is awesome.......when it works. Reception is so bad within the rooms of the building that your phones won't be able to actually play the game at all.....disappointing. All in all it wasn't a bad day, but I'm glad we didn't pay for admission, or come from a long way. It wouldn't have been worth it AT ALL.

Free to get in. $1.00 per hour to park. Exhibit did not flow. It dead ends on each floor. Too many reproduction works i.e. No.123/500 for me. I like for my museums to have original works. The front desk ask for I.D. when you walk in, Why? This is so annoying to me most time. Likely trying to account for attendance but still annoying. The place was of moderate size. Not a small or large place. I did enjoy seeing the F.I.U. campus. 3 stars.

Drove down from Palm Beach County to see this alleged powerhouse of a museum. Complete disappointment. The parking for the museum was full so we had to find a lot close by that services the Adrienne Arsht center. Not a crisis. What should have tipped me off that this experience was going to be a huge letdown was the entrance up to the museum. As a pedestrian entering from Biscayne you are walking up an unfinished driveway where the drop-off area is. I gathered that the pedestrian entrance is on the south side near Museum Park. Awkward at best. The museum itself was the strangest building I've ever been in. I can't believe this was built from the ground up. It felt like a retrofitted parking garage turned museum. Nothing about navigating this place is easy. Stairwells lead to nowhere. There's absolutely ZERO flow through. Ticket prices aren't cheap and I can honestly say the best part of this museum had nothing to do with the exhibits but everything to do with the views, which were spectacular. Aside from that this place was a complete waste of an afternoon. Side note: I'm not entirely certain why reviewers are complaining about the ticket queue. You do realize you can purchase tickets online right? There's this thing called a smartphone. It's going to be huge....

Biggest waste of money. Nothing really interesting to see, and most of it seems to be catered to children. Parking is disgustingly overpriced. $8 for first hour and then $4 an hour after. Don't waste your time and money

To be Fair, I was very exited about the many great attractions that this place promoted offering. Once inside, I realized what a rip off of a place it is. 6 floors and only 3 attractions. The remaining 3 floors offer empty pictures printed from a random website. If you are looking to waste your time in Miami, this is the place to go. I DO NOT RECCOMEND IT 🙅‍♂️
