Area 31’s breathtaking vistas provide the wow factor, but Chef Birk’s elegant yet approachable cuisine draws full attention to the plate. Our name is drawn from Fishing Area 31, an international zone designated by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization as a sustainable fishery, a vision that Area 31 embraces and advances. From the kitchen to the bar, we like to source local—so local, in fact, that sometimes we don’t even have to leave the premises! Our on-site herb garden provides fresh ingredients to both the kitchen and the bar and is located on our spectacular outdoor Terrace Lounge, Miami’s favorite elevated hangout. Habitually innovative, often breathtaking and always welcoming, Area 31 is here to make sure you’re never more than an elevator ride from a singular Miami experience.

The food was good and decent portions; however we originally ordered the prime rib and they were out at 6:30pm (when dinner starts at 6:00) so instead they offered a New York strip which was delicious nonetheless. As many others mentioned, the food does take a while, but it is a good opportunity to take in the ambiance. We were a little disappointed of the views as we thought we might also see the water but there is a wall blocking that view due to the pool area. The views of the Brickell high rise buildings and a bit of the Miami river were great though. Just as an fyi, parking at the hotel is $22 (getting it validated at the restaurant is a $5 discount). The lounge area is also good if you just want drinks. Overall, a good experience of rooftop dining.

This place is great! I went for breakfast and everything was delicious especially the pancakes. The service was great, we were celebrating a birthday and they were kind enough to sing and bring dessert.

Awful service, food underwhelming when compared to the unearthly price. Rude waiter checked on us once after ordering while we waited 2 hours for food, which were very small portions. Never stopped peddling the most expensive drinks and appetizers to us while failing to bring out bread we specifically asked to come out before the food. When we asked to cancel the bread an hour later, they rushed out stale bread from Wal-Mart and left it on our bill anyways. Thanks. View is decent but nowhere near the top of the building and the patio is beneath 300 patios above you that will drip random fluids on you throughout the meal. Despite the absolutely horrendous service we tipped him 20% because 20 percent gratuity is added to the bill. Great way to encourage terrible wait staff. In addition to all of this we were informed that the fish was all fresh from "Area 31," a mysterious fishing location somewhere "Southeast of Canada" according to our waiter. Yes very fresh. It was a chore for this waiter to even express this to us however so we should feel lucky he deemed us worthy of his incredible knowledge. At least the hostess was nice. Barely One Star. Eat at a Brazilian Steakhouse, save your money and fill your stomach.

We went here to celebrate my birthday. It was pretty fun and the view was amazing, but we stayed so much time to wait for somebody to get up from the table. Even though we had reservation at that hour. Eventually they set up another table on the terrace for us. The waiter was polite. Food was not that great, but the price was average. I liked the cocktails. The best is the skyline, the whole reason why I would go back there. In conclusion, it is ok.

This place is all about the view! Sit outside to enjoy the view of the Miami skyline. The food is delicious and the staff is very friendly. Giving 4 starts due to wait for the food to come out always being very long! They also have a great brunch! Nice place to go out on a date night or brunch with friends.
