Area 31’s breathtaking vistas provide the wow factor, but Chef Birk’s elegant yet approachable cuisine draws full attention to the plate. Our name is drawn from Fishing Area 31, an international zone designated by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization as a sustainable fishery, a vision that Area 31 embraces and advances. From the kitchen to the bar, we like to source local—so local, in fact, that sometimes we don’t even have to leave the premises! Our on-site herb garden provides fresh ingredients to both the kitchen and the bar and is located on our spectacular outdoor Terrace Lounge, Miami’s favorite elevated hangout. Habitually innovative, often breathtaking and always welcoming, Area 31 is here to make sure you’re never more than an elevator ride from a singular Miami experience.

We visited area 31 in the night only for drinks. The view is exactly like in the pictures: breathtaking. We took advantage of the Chase the clock offer (depending on the time you visit, they charge you the relevant amount of money for example of you are there at 18:00 you pay 6$ (plus tax) for your drink. At 22:00 you pay 10$ plus tax) The drinks were nice and the atmosphere was great. There was a combination of live music with a saxophone accompanying the music on the decks. Should pay a visit once in Miami!!!!

Food was decent, seafood was fresh. I think I expect more creativity from an upscale place though & I don't think my oysters were fully cleaned, it was quite disappointing. The patio and the views are great! We had a very late reservation and were seated for 15 minutes without water or a drink menu, had to chase a waiter down.

I would give it 0 if I could. Where do I start. We arrived for drinks and/or dinner (will admit that we didn't have a reservation). We were perfectly fine with patio or bar seating. So we proceeded to the outdoor terrace. It goes down hill from here. We find a table and ask one of the two waitresses outside if she could wipe it down. She barely looks up at us but we figure she's busy. She walks away. We stand there for atleast 5 minutes waiting for her to return. We look around and see her tending to other customers and she never again looked or came our way. I continue to stand another few minutes while my husband returns to the hostess stand to ask if it's possible to have a clean table out on the terrace. The hostess staff looked pretty helpless and says that the service out there "is slow." They make no effort to provide any further assistance. Meanwhile my husband returns to me still standing at the table. No one has bothered to come to do a 10 second wipe down. We finally leave. No excuse or reason for this to happen. I'm guessing we didn't meet the "profile" of their ideal customer. Sad as the view was nice. But who cares if the service is this poor.

1 star given for the view. Came here during happy hour on a Friday (big mistake). There's one main bar that takes >20 min to order a drink and food. Mistakenly left my tab open. Came back and took another >15 min to get my food which was just sitting there the whole time. Came back and took >30 min to close my tab. Really need more staff at the bar to accommodate the number of people. Happy hour food is mediocre and overpriced ($8). Would come back to enjoy the view and that's pretty much it.

Best Steak in Miami Hands Down! I went there almost a month ago and Chef Julian told me he had an extra special bone in cut. Naturally I went with his suggestion. It was the best steak I ever had. But for the sake of this review, I couldn't just try it once. I went back last week and he still had the same cut. To my amazement it was just as good, if not better than the first steak. Chef Julian is an artist. I am a connoisseur of steaks and have been to all the greatest spots in Miami. It never even occurred to me that Lilt would be the heavyweight champion. But they are. I am going back once every two weeks.
